Invited by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, H. E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy of UAE left for Guangzhou of China in October 13 2006 to attend the 100th Session Commemoration of the Chinese Export Commodities Fair in the coming days. Chargé d'affaires ad interim H.E. Ms. Li Lingbing and Economic & Commercial Counsellor Mr. Zhuang Ruijin from the Chinese Embassy in UAE held a ceremony at Dubai International Airport to see her off.
During recent years, the bilateral trade relationship between China and UAE has witnessed a drastically uprising. In 2005, Sino-UAE trade reached US$10.77 billion, with China’s export to UAE comprising US$8.73 billion. In the first 8 months of this year, the total import and export value between the two countries reached US$9.0 billion, of witch, China exported US$7.18 billion. UAE has become China’s second largest trade partner in the Middle East (only follows Saudi Arabia).
